I have a treadle Model 66 and I was using Billy's tutorial to disassemble it for cleaning.

For the life of me I can not get the thumb screw off to remove the presser foot lever. I have tried everything. Does anyone have any suggestions to get that thing to loosen.

Thanks
Denise

I would pm Billy.

I was going to do that, I figured I would try the collective wisdom first.

Denise, I used his tutorial also and my machine came out fantastic!
Good luck :)

I was hoping, but I am ready to just put the thing up on CL. That darn screw is stuck.... I have actually dinged the screw trying to get it out. I am so over it!

Maybe a martini and some time away from her will give me a better attitude. Maybe she needs a martini to loosen her up! ;)

Yup, splash some on her hahaha
Do you have anyone around who's really really strong?????

That is how the screw got nicked... my hubby had a towel over the screw and a pair of pliers... with me holding the machine.

It did move, but not enough to get it out.

Martinis are my friend. LOL

Liquid Wrench and let it set for a while. Repeat if necessary.

Spray it with WD-40 and let it sit for an hour or so and then try again

Thanks everyone... It sat for about 4 hours with WD- 40... before my hubby got to it. I think I am just going to get that screw out and try to replace it, as it is currently beat to heck.

Sigh, I just wanted to use my treadle....:( Hope she will be worth all of this hassle.
