I took a piece of midweight polar fleece and cut a strip 14"x30". I gave one end one turn, layed the 2 ends overlapping about 1/2", layed a narrow strip of Elmers school glue on one end and put the other end on that. Then I went to the sewing machine and made a 3-step zig zag, not too narrow along it and Voila I'm done. Took me about 5 minutes. Don't have to finish the edges because the fleece won't fray. Keeps me nice and warm when I am out with the dogs.

Well, mine is light grey because that is what I had handy, so it may not show up too well, and my model wasn't very cooperative, but here are a couple pics:

hope you can see the zig zag

Well, she definitely was NOT patient. I took about 10 pictures before she decided I was not going to give up, so she might as well just give in. I may make her one to wear in the winter because her ears get so cold.

My laugh for the day. I love your model!

I will have to try your scarf. Dog walking is a big deal in our household - 2 furgirls and me. It isn't always cold enough to need my fleece hat with ear warmers.

Since Gus got his ACL surgery and has to be walked on leash, I have been out in the cold a WHOLE LOT. Seems a lot colder here for this time of year (maybe because I usually just let the dogs out into the yard). I have a hat I have been wearing and everytime I put it on Heidi starts barking at me. Guess she didn't like the hat. And my neck was still cold so decided one of those would be quick and warm. Works great. I used to live in Midland, so I know about the winters in that area; born and raised in Mich.
