Today DH and I went yard saleing and found a Montgomery ward Sewing machine it is a model-E no numbers.
On the machine itself there is a plack with M W on it on the motor it says:
Montgomery Ward & Co. USA
Model-E
15 V 60W AC or DC

On the inside of the cabnet is a small metal plate, attached with small nailes, that says Montgomery Ward & Co.

No attachments, no owners manuel, and no foot peddle. All electrical cords are there but the cord that attaches to the foot peddle is a 3 prong female end all three prongs need to be round on the foot peddle I have never seen a cord with all 3 round prongs. It is a very light weight machine, all metal and has a shuttle instead of a bobbin. I will post a picture when I get my camera back (it is on its way to get fixed) I have spent a couple of hrs on the internet and the phone with Wards, and several vintage sewing machine sites Have not found information about this machine would greatly aprechate any help you ladies and gentalmen can give me. I did buy it for $5.00 hope that wasn't to much! LOL If I never get it to run it is still a great little machine to look at. I'm happy to give it a good cleanning and a new home.

Do you have a local SM repairperson? He/she might have a stash of orphan cords. Sounds like you may have found a nice machine.

My sister has an old Montgomery Wards sewing machine - I have no idea of the year/model. She has been sewing with it for nearly 40 years and it is still very reliable.
I hope you get your new 'find' working soon.

I bought a Montgomery wards machine at a yard sale for 2 bucks. It didn't have the power cord or foot peddal (SP?) but I just had to have her.
I can't wait to see a picture of yours.

I have a MW machine in the cabinet too. Mine is the Godzilla finish. Model B. Mine didn't come with a cord either but my Dad said he can re-wire it. He is refinishing the cabinet right now. I didn't have a manuel for mine either and happen to run across someone selling the exact machine in NE on Craigs list. ( I live in NV.) I called her and asked if she would be willing to make me a copy and I would pay her for it. She didn't want any money for it because she knew how much I wanted to get this machine going. (I sent her $20.00 anyway for her time) MW machines were made by the National Sewing Machine Co. in Belevidere Il. Not a whole lot of info on their machines. They didn't save records. Please post a picture of yours and maybe I can help you out. Maybe my manuel will also work with yours. I believe mine is a 1932. I also have a Domestic made by National that is a 1943 model.
