1 Attachment(s)
Hubby said go ahead! So I did! I traded in my Janome 300e for this beautiful Brother embroidery only machine. What a difference. Don't get me wrong, I loved my little Janome for a starter, but this one is on a whole new level. Boy am I having fun.

Tartan 11-23-2012 01:00 PM

QuiltnNan 11-23-2012 01:24 PM

wow, awesome machine! congrats

TinkerQuilts 11-23-2012 01:46 PM

How very very nice! Is that a Quattro? I have the Duetta and have loads of fun with it.

In your post you said "embroidery only machine", but your Brother is for both regular sewing and embroidery - I'm thinking you know that - right???

quiltnut4ever 11-23-2012 01:51 PM

Congratulations! Have fun with it. I'm having so much fun with my new Babylock Spirit. Love the room it has 7x12! Again enjoy!

nygal 11-23-2012 02:45 PM

It looks like a beautiful machine. I have a Brother embroidery machine and I love it.

Mitch's mom 11-23-2012 02:47 PM

It is embroidery only! Wow, I want one! I had read Brother had a new V series of machines out but had not checked into them. My PC6500 has been giving me fits and has to be repaired. I'm not so sure I wouldn't trade it in on this beauty. Nice hubby!

Last month I took an Anita Goodesign class using all Brother machines. Brother does make Embroidery only machines, they do look a lot like this one, just can't remember the name. LOL Enjoy your new machine! I had a blast at the class, wish I could justify the cost of an embroidery machine. Just not in the budget this year. LOL

It is the Innovis Dreammaker "embroidery only" machine. Brother just came out with it. You can also get it sewing only or combo. I only wanted the embroidery.

What is the benefit of embroidery only machine? How do you get the designs to the machine? Stick or plug into laptop?

nls 11-23-2012 07:04 PM

Enjoy your new machine!

Debbie B 11-23-2012 07:13 PM

Wait one minute...got to wipe the drool from my mouth. What a beautiful machine. Be sure to post pictures of your work. Enjoy!

dgeskine 11-23-2012 07:14 PM

That is a great early Christmas present! Enjoy every minute of it!

slk350 11-23-2012 07:15 PM

Congratulations on your new machine. I also got myself an early X-Mas gift at Joanns today..a HV Topaz 20. I have NO CLUE how to even start to use the embroidery part of the machine. LOL I'll take some of the classes after the holidays

Designs can be sent both ways to the machine. The benefit for me was the price and the fact that I already have a beautiful Viking to sew on. Now I can sew while the embroidery is doing it's job.

Mariposa 11-23-2012 08:09 PM

Have fun with your new machine!

joyce888 11-24-2012 04:27 AM

Santa's was good to you! Looks like fun.

grann of 6 11-24-2012 05:11 AM

How cool is that! I didn't realize there were embroidery only machines on the market without going with the behemoths that have a bunch of separate needles for the thread colors. I have a HV Designer Diamond that I use exclusively for embroidery, then have a Topaz 30, a SE, and a D1, that I use for various aspects of quilting. I would think that it would be a lot cheaper to have the "one use" type machine rather than the "two use" machine, that I don't even use for both. But I wanted the very large hoop capabilities, and the computer connection. The Topaz does much of what the Diamond does, but uses only a stick for download, less screen. But it has the large throat too, which I love for quilting.

ro 11-24-2012 05:14 AM

great minds think alike. i also saw the fingerprints and thought thats great she's using and enjoying. have fun!

pojo 11-24-2012 05:28 AM

nice machine

aunt eunice 11-24-2012 05:32 AM

Congrats! I also would like to move away from a combo machine without losing too much embroidery space. Hubby thinks I need a 10 needle emb to get an emb only machine. Just wait until I show him this! Enjoy your new toy!

I plan to go out today to buy mine, the USB port and larger hoops are my eye catcher on these machines. Have a Brothers that 4"x 4" hoop but want the bigger hoop for quilting blocks. have fun with your new one.

I wil be getting a brother embroidery machine for Christmas as well, I ordered last week on the HSN, cannot wait to get it, its not as fancy as yours, but I didn't want anything too fancy, I wanted one for a while just to do small things, names on pillowcases and such, christmas stockings, dishtowels etc... i bought a bunch of thread at JoAnns, theres was on sale for buy one get one free, so i stocked up. My embroidery machine is just for embroidery, i didnt need one the sews, cause i have two pfaffs for that. I hope you have lots of fun, i know i will.

Dolphyngyrl 11-24-2012 07:34 AM

I have the sewing embroidery one. Looks like you've used yours quite a bit, so I might pm you if I need help

KarenR 11-24-2012 07:37 AM

Merry Christmas early!

pennylynne 11-24-2012 07:48 AM

Congrats.....looks like you have a lot of projects lined up already based on that list behind it....have fun

thepolyparrot 11-24-2012 08:14 AM

How exciting!!!! Congratulations to you - I know you're going to have so much fun with it!

I love cutwork - old fashioned "punto intaglio" - Anita Goodesign has some nice collections and so does Embroidery Library. A touch of cutwork is so elegant - and so easy to add to a plain towel or set of pillowcases. :)

Have a great time!!!! :D

Looks wonderful. I'm really wanting a larger embroidery machine as well. (have a Janome 350E). How big of a picture will this one stitch?

I'm trying everything I can think of to try to figure out how to earn more money so I can afford a bigger hoop than 5x7.

If I can help I will. Maybe we can help each other. I'm catching on pretty quick, but, there are so many things it can do.

The big frame is 12 x 7. I wanted to get one with the bigger frame to expand my capabilities.

Wonderful early Xmas present. Enjoy it.

MimiBug123 11-24-2012 03:02 PM

I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy my Janome 10001. I was worried about spending so much money on a machine but it has been worth every penny, then some!
