My mom started a quilt for my sister, but passed before she could finish it. She finished four blocks wide and eight rows down.
My sisters daughter wants to surprise her mother for Christmas and give this to her. But it is about 50 years old, it is quite rotten in places. I suggested she could cut a block of it out and somehow put it in a frame with a "mother daughter" type quote. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |
That is a great idea!! Maybe a matching pillow too? :D:D:D

Would it be possible to copy the quilt and make a new one. Just a thought.

Could you post a pic???

What about a shadow box with the folded up quilt, as is, and a picture of her and her mom in it?

I love bj's idea. And yes a new one could be made as well as littlehud suggested. Love that you found this special memory.

Such wonderful ideas. I will keep them in mind for myself. How great to have such an heirloom from your mother. Let us know what you decide to do. I would vote for the enclosed glass/wood with the whole piece and a picture of your mother along with the date of the quilt and name of the block. Happiness and warmth follows.
