I have just started using my new baby !! She is a Janome 6600 and I LOVE her !!
She purrs along and obviously I haven't learnt all her abilities yet - but we seem to be getting on fine !!
Wish there was more hours in the day - to do all I want to do.

deedum 08-02-2011 03:10 AM

Very nice machine indeed-if I was buying a new one that is the one I would get, my friends have that one and she is nice!

katyquilter 08-02-2011 03:14 AM

Hi, I did it with a group and it was from a book by Jenny Raiment, but sadly I cannot remember which one. I will try and find out for you !

wvdek 08-02-2011 04:01 AM

So glad you like her. I have one too and she's a gem.

On Sunday, I changed to a leather needle and stitched through 4 layers of fabric and a quarter inch thick piece of leather in between, and she didn't even hesitate. I keep the manual within arms reach and refer to it quite alot for different things. I am going to plcae the pages in plastic inserts in a binder so I don't ruin them, that's how much I refer to it.
Have fun!

callie 08-02-2011 05:21 AM

I also have a 6600, have had a 350E (& loved it - and my dealer said I used her like an industrial machine and I miss her!). I now have the 6600 and MC1000 and love them. Great machines. So glad you are enjoying yours and to Pat F.C. - don't hesitate to get a 350E - you will love it! Just start gathering machine embroidery thread now (LOL).

susie-susie-susie 08-02-2011 07:37 AM

I have a Janome, and I love her. There is nothing she can't do, except embroidery. I can use any thread and sew as many layers as I want. I admire your picture and have made many of them in a size that is used as a trivet. I used to go to craft shows and have sold 100's of them.

I have had my 350E for 2 years and love it. I make my own quilt labels, make Maxine tea towels as gifts, personalize items, embellish items, make quilt blocks to my heart's content. Rather than mess with my computer, I bought an external hard drive to use for cd's and my machine. When I am sewing on m y 6600, my label is being embroidered on the 350E.

Pat F. C. 08-02-2011 01:38 PM

Thanks Callie, My birthday is coming up and all I asked for is thread. lol. Although my husband was nice enough to pay for my registration and classes at the Houston quilt show.

watterstide 08-03-2011 03:21 AM

suekenyon 08-03-2011 03:48 AM

I have a Memory Craft 6500 and a 350E...love both of
them.

Pat F. C. 08-03-2011 03:53 AM

I am glad I am getting a 350E there are so many people who love them and use them. That makes me feel better. The place I am purchasing it from is giving me the digitizer Jr. with it. I can't wait.

It'sJustMe 08-03-2011 04:00 AM

Love my Janome too! Although it's 'only' a 6300, I can always sit down to it with the confidence I'll have no problems.

Lillian 08-03-2011 04:13 AM

I purchased the 6600 earlier this year - love it!!!! She is a work horse!

azwendyg 08-03-2011 04:16 AM

Have fun with it! My daughter got one recently and I didn't even want to sew on it for fear I'd have to go buy one too!

Tweety2911 08-03-2011 04:16 AM

Congrats to you!

kacy 49 08-03-2011 04:17 AM

Congratulations. You will have such a great time with your new machine. I have a 350e and I love her. She is great.

C. 08-03-2011 04:25 AM

Congrats.....I have had my 6600 for five years and have loved every minute of it. It is a true work horse with no problems. My hubby wanted to know if I wanted to trade it in for the Horizon and after looking at the Horizon, I am sticking with my baby that I love love love. As you learn and do more with it you will discover over and over your love for it. Happy Sewing.....C.

Nancy Ingham 08-03-2011 06:24 AM

Congratulations and Happy Quilting!

MargeD 08-03-2011 06:37 AM

Congratulations. I have a Janome 4000, and she has served me well and made lots and lots of quilts, as well as clothes, drapes, curtains, etc. I had a lot of fun when I first got the machine, buying rayon thread and trying out all the decorative stitches. I took a simple block, sew squares to two corners of a block, press back to make a triangle, and when the corners met with 4 triangles, I stitched around the square using lots of embroidery stitches and used a lot of rayon thread in every color I could find.

eastermarie 08-03-2011 06:40 AM

I have one and really enjoy it. It is so much quieter sewing than my old machine.

hallsmark 08-03-2011 07:56 AM

I have a 11000 Janome. Love it

snipforfun 08-03-2011 08:27 AM

I have the 6600 and love it. I suggest you join the Yahoo group. there is so much incredible info in their files and lots of members that can answer any question. There are a couple of recurring problems that you may want to be aware of so you dont think your machine is broken. One is that every so often the thread jumps out of the take up lever and creates chaos and bad words til you realize what is wrong. The other is that it seems to have a hard time going over bulky intersections. There is a new foot O2 that helps with this problem. The Yahoo group knows a lot more about this machine than most dealers do!

Farm Quilter 08-03-2011 08:44 AM

Congratulations!!! So much fun to get a new best friend!!!!! I love my Janome

Landers 08-03-2011 08:50 AM

I also have a Janome 6600 and love it! I have had it for 4 years now. But i saw the new Janome Horizons and now I want to trade my 6600 in for it. I used my 6600 for FMQ and it worked really good but the Horizons has a 11-inch throat!!!
