I am attaching a pattern that I made from a picture. I loaded it into photoshop and created a layer for each applique piece. Opinions please! Has anyone else tried this? Does it work? To late tonight to try it.

Haven't tried it. You could print out onto freezer paper what you uploaded for us to see and would be able to cut out each of the individual sections of the flower for applique pieces. There are two pieces that don't appear to have identifying letter/number. What exactly are you trying to do?

I'm interested to see how you take to the next step. Keep us posted:)

looks like it will work well----consider some highlight in p5 to give depth

I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work. Very clever and creative of you.

yup yup yup ~ I have been working on a portrait of one of my bearded dragons, won't start that quilt until 2012, but pick at the photoshop lineart here and there when I'm bored... I've done it with other stuff, too ~ that's how I did this quilt :)

pic was taken before top quilting was finalized, we had to give to my cousin's grandson for b-day gift, then get it back to quilt it

I think that is awesome! I would use it to make a applique of the iris. Clever, clever!

I'd like to see a tute for using the photoshop program also. I think your drawing is GREAT! You can just make several copies if you need to for the different pieces & then have one to use as a reference. Please show it to us when you are working on it!
