My quilt group is doing a Row Robin and YES of course I'm joining in on this too...LOL The 1st row is a stumper on me already....It's suppose to be rectangles only....I don't want to do a rail fence, I want something different. Everything I see has another shape in it...Does anyone know of any other pattern? It doesn't matter what size block because I haven't figured out what size I want yet. I guess it depends on the size of the pattern I find.

Please Help.

Could you make your own pattern ? maybe do like a log cabin with a rectangle in the middle ? then adjust your strips to keep the rectangle going by illusion ?

Maybe here's an idea or two -

How about Piano keys?

Good luck,

an elongated diamond (in a rectangle)

I would just do a scrappy rectangles. Long short and alternate and make piano keys.

Technically, a square is also a rectangle. And since the rules didn't just require the use of oblongs, you can also incorporate them into your design.

Sorry for the lousy graphics and colors, but this is a pretty easy block, yet, with the right fabrics, can be very interesting. Also, instead of making five 12" blocks (or whatever), you can make each 12" block from 4 of these and get a much more complex look.

It's very forgiving, no seams have to match, and you just have to deal with one partial seam.

I think of it as a great stash buster - if I see one more D9P   . So if you've got a fabric collection, or even an all scrappy look (light/darks), it's a breeze to work up.

MTS, I love that block! I've been looking for something like that. Thanks!

the 10 minute block can be done using rectangles and you get a square in the middle. tut is on utube. good luck.
mts, love that block pattern.

I'm going to try to post a picture I drew in EQ... Hmmm.... I guess it's a work in progress. I saved it as a PDF & then found it, but it is only posting the drawing without a colour... so.... I'll keep trying. Okay got the colour going, but it's HUGE..... 4 pages....hmmm

Alright, there's a picture of one block & then a row with the same block alternating colourings. It would be an easy block to make & quite effective.
