I saw a quilted purse in a shop while on a trip that used four 2-piece grommets for the straps to pass thru. They appear to snap together to cover the fabric (they are 2-pieces each), have an inside diameter of about 1-1/2' and a 1/4" outer ring, and are plastic.
Does anyone know where I can find these? I think I would prefer them to smaller metal grommets I have seen at LFS. |
I have seen them several places but have heard really bad things about how well they hold the fabric my local quilt shop http://www.weresewcreative.com carrys them

I've seen these at Joann's and/or Hobby Lobby.
|
some quilt shops are carrying them, also joannes, hobby lobby, michaels---you could also check Clotilde's and Nancy's notions on line
|
JoAnns carries them. They are called Curtain Grommets and are in the home dec area.
|
I found metal ones that hold forever, like in canvas, in the sporting/hunting stores. The small ones work great for totes and purses.

I get my metal grommets at michaels craft store. They have a good variety of them. Joanne's has them to and they are in the sewing section. You could also check for them at amazon.com.
