I am a newbie and I have determined that I "need" to make this quilt for my neice. I have a collegiate fabric that I would like to showcase so this pattern would be perfect. Only problem is that I have no clue what pattern it is.
Can anyone help? here is the link to the site, it is the school quilt #2 http://www.jerseygirlquilts.com/Home...college-quilts thanks so much for your help! Debra |
Not sure if that pattern has a name, particularly. It may just be something they made up to fit their needs. Get some graph paper and you can draft your own fairly easily.
For example: if the center square of the block would finish at 5", you would cut a square 5.5". The side rectangles would probably be something like 2.5" wide finished. For each finished block you would need 2 rectangles that were 3" by 5.5", and two that were 3" by 10.5" ( I think; mental math is not my strong point) ending up with a 10" finished block. Then you would sash them with cornerstones. |
Thank you so much. Now it makes sense to me that I can create the pattern myself. Just needed someone to jumpstart my brain

I did just run across a free pattern for the a block called "framed square" that is basically the same thing - just separate the framed squares by sashing and you'll be good to go.

Thank you! That is perfect. I really appreciate the help :)
BTW.... I LOVE the quilt in your profile picture. The blue looks amazing as the background color. One day I hope to be able to make something so beautiful! |
Aren't the members here the best? So willing to help. :)
