I bought an old Singer today. Original patent date on it is 1900. I,m sure its newer than that. There is a number in the metal plate on the surface of the machine. Is ther a sight where I can enter this information to find out more? Please help me!

OK I have an oldie 1912 model 66

Mine has an elec motor and light attached. I'm guessing she was originally a treadle and converted. The motor is a Best Built Sewing Machine Motor. I was told she doesn't sew too well. I
bought her for $50, more to use as a display piece, but I will try her out and check into a cleaning and inquiry about repairs.

Look over the wiring and where it connects to the motor carefully before you attempt to use a 1912 machine. Yes, they were motorized that early. As far as not sewing, it's possible, but not likely. Look up Lostn51's tutorials for 'Cleaning your vintage machine.' Also post in the vintage machine shop and you'll find all kinds of help.
