I*m almost done with an Eternity Project (=eternal UFO), a double Irish chain scrappy contraption, about 1 by 1,5 meters in size. It's made with 2" leaders and enders pieces. Now it needs some kind of quilting on the white areas, the colored parts will be just stitched diagonally with a couple of lines. My problem is that I can only do barely passable meandering or stippling in FMQ nd maybe a large spiral or flowers of sorts. Also,I've only done 1 appliqued potholder in my life and now is not the time to learn anything fancy. Please suggest s-g quick and easy or the quilt or whatever it is will be put away for another 4 years!

are you able to draw a 3- or 4- leafed clover [a la shamrock] in the white spaces and sew over that with your machine?

Thank you! I think I'll try the 4 leaf clover, I'll practise on white fabric scraps untill my hand and brain cooperate.

I have recently done a small quilt. I drew the design on tracing paper and then pinned this onto the area and sewed the design through the paper onto the quilt. Very successful and stress free way for a newbie like me.
