I was just going to suggest that! I learned to sew back in the dark ages, and we (the home ec class) were taught to do that. We were also taught press seams like Eleanor Burns does--iron or press the seam as sewn , THEN press open or to one side. She ws the first TV quilter I saw do this. Later I saw other TV quilters do it too. Maybe my home ec teacher knew what she was talking about!! I used to grumble that she wanted the plaids to match when turned up for a hem. I find that I have become just as particular as she was. Did someone say youth is wasted on the young?
