I am sending pictures of fabric I want to make a quilt from for my son. I have not found a pattern that would incorporate the large pattern panel. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I will post another set of pictures of coordinating fabric I have I can use in the design.

Stunning colors....I'm not very creative when it comes to original designs and my first thought was to use the panel and the whole thing as a backing, and to make something with everything else. I'd be afraid to chop up all the fabric as it's sooooo beautiful as is... perhaps something with large pieces and more elaborate quilting would be nice.

have fun, I'm sure it will be gorgeous, no matter what!!

have you seen the block "celtic sunrise" on quilters cache. It would keep with the celtic theme.

Beautiful fabrics!! I would use the panel as the center of the quilt and use the coordinating fabric around it. You could just frame the panel or add blocks to whatever size quilt you want!

That's the Celtic Illuminations line from Fabric Freedom, right? Love it!! There was a pattern created especially for the fabric by Sally Ablett. It's smaller than you probably want to make yours, but it may give you some good ideas on what to do. http://www.diy-moms.com/shop/pattern...lumination.pdf

That fabric is beautiful and I think I would go with some kind of large locks, to show off the material!

Beautiful fabric---so rich and elegant-looking!! I had the same idea as sewjoyce---use the panel as the center and build around it---not sure what that is called----is it round robin or medallion?

CajunQuilter2, I just reread the instructions for the quilt in the link I posted and there is an error. The instructions for Block 1 refer to the diagram of Block 2, and the instructions for Block 2, a Bright Hopes block with partial seams, refer to the diagram of Block 1. Sorry I didn't catch that earlier.

what stunning fabric.

i would do something along the lines of a marble floor.

there's a book and patterns on the market by the name of Bella Bella Quilts.

you might get some great ideas looking at the designs and many of them utilize large panels in the center. there's a gallery section on the website and you can see the large panels and what people use for blocks around it - here's a link
