Need Help Please
I want to make some of those Xmas napkins that when folded look like a Xmas tree. I can't find out how much material to use. I watched the YouTube video and she said use a quarter of a yard....that's 9 inches. That's a pretty small napkin. I'm wondering if I misunderstood and it's a fat quarter...? Anyone help me please? You ladies always know the answers to my questions and you are so quick to answer!!! Thanks so much....

Hi
I bought 1/2 yard of two coordinating fabrics to make mine. I did download a pattern for the half circle online....but can't put my finger on the site right now, I had done a search. I will get four napkins, about 16 inches each from it. It's basically a half circle of two fabrics sewn together, turned, folded, and pressed. The bigger your half circle the bigger the napkin, have seen them with a full circle also, but that looked bulkier to me. Hope that helps you. Bev |

I cut mine from a fat quarter, but a skinny quarter would also work. The half-circle is 16" across, which makes it 8" tall. Add quarter inch seams and you can cut 2 half-circles from a fat or skinny quarter.

My friend has made many of these and she uses her serger on the edges instead of turning. She sometimes uses fancy thread in the serger. I think they can be any size you want. She has made big ones and little ones for tea

Hi Nancy
It is a fairly small napkin, more a luncheon than dinner size The next time I make them I'll use a larger half-circle |
