I found that download button, BUT if you read it , it says there are instructions AND directions...something is missing...there are NO directions for putting the block together!

templates are here - it looks like you sew B to middle right sides together (keeping end unsewn so you can tuck last piece under when you get to end), flip, go counter clockwise sew next color, flip and continue around. ????

either way, this is not an easy block...if you have never done partial seams, they are much like a Y seam and tricky!
Even though I'm fairly new I managed to do partial seam on my very FIRST
star block. It was a Harvest Star...very similar to a Double Aster. I guess I
like a challenge once in a while (contrary to my nickname). LOL
If I can do it, anyone can. We all have to learn one way or other. :-D

I agree partially with Jennie...start by putting the top trapezoid (pink fabric) on with a partial seam...The way I sew, I'd stitch on the left half of the seam and leave the right half open. Now, for the second seam, go to the left/counterclockwise and sew on the yellow/tan trapezoid...this and the rest can all be done with a full seam. Continue counterclockwise one at a time until you come to the final yellow trapezoid. Put this on with a full seam as well, making sure you pin the first pink fabric out of the way. When this last yellow one is on, go back to the first pink one, lay it in position and finish stitching that seam.
If you prefer to start by stitching the first pink strip on with the right side stitched and the left side unstitched, then you would go clockwise in finishing the strips.

I have a pattern for a table topper and the directions are as Jennie & Kate stated. Rhonda's tabletopper directions are similar and it has pictures that are an enormous help. http://www.quiltinaday.com/community...=3&topic=22047

Very Cute block, but where do you start?? I couldn't find a starting point on adding the borders to the center, maybe I'm blind or something. Probably because I've never done a Y seam, that must be it!
