Im new to quilting and want to make dh's parents a lap quilt for christmas. Nothing too fancy so I can get it done in time. They like nature/hunting/lab dogs. I was looking for a panel with maybe ducks or something and then a bunch of blocks around it with a border. My questions are how big is a typical lap quilt? Where can I find a panel like that and also what blocks would like nice around it?
thanks in advance
Thank you those are great!
I'd keep looking until I found something I would enjoy doing ...other wise you might not get it done ....speaking about trial and error on my part...some colors I just have a hard time working with....Good luck and let us know what you choose to do or a photo... :D
This quilt is one of my ALL TIME favorites to make...both for kids and adults. It is easy easy easy.....in fact, scroll down the left side of the page for many many more WONDERFUL patterns. Bookmark this link...you will use it often....I guarentee!!
The nice thing about the pattern you posted is it gives the directions for binding and everything. Would be good for a beginner.
I agree, this is a WONDERFUL site both for the neubie and the old pro alike!! She gives such great directions and like I said in my earlier post, scroll down the left side of her web page for GREAT patterns. I have made, I think, ALL of them but his easy Eye Spy pattern is my all time FAVORITE.
