I just finished wall hanging, I've got to put the inner & outter borders. And I'm not sure how to quilt it. I've thought just a simple large checkerboard pattern would be good. I don't want to lose the pattern by using a busy quilting pattern...so HELP!
Thanks! Kind Regards, MaryAnna |
It's a beauty! I would quilt doing stitch in the ditch (SID).

Thanks EllaBud,
Do you think I should do the cross, and outline the yellow around? Or each individual peice? It's a log cabin quilt, so that's a lot of 'stitch n ditchin'. Kind Regards, MaryAnna |
I would do a diamond by stitching through the yellow & then a smaller diamond closer to the center, depending on what batting so you would know how close you need your stitching to be.

Yes, the yellow would look good with a diamond pattern.....I do like the diamond pattern. I'll check on the batting, I'm sure it will be thin as this is a wallhanging quilt. Kind Regard, MaryAnna |
I made a blue Log Cabin for Jim for Christmas and quilted NEXT to the ditch. It came out great!

I vote for diamond, too!! Yellow in the blue areas and blue in the yellow areas would make it sing.

My first log cabin wall hanging was only 4 large blocks. It looks like a stained glass window. I stitched 1/4 inch inside of the seam and do not like that. Stitch in the ditch would look better in my opinion. I love the blue and yellow you have chosen. I have fabric too for a blue and yellow one to be done someday. Wish me luck.

I would outline quilt it. About 1/4 inch in from the seams
