NEED Help!
 

I have ? about 'Steam-A-Seam 2 for Applique.
I've used it in 3 Quilt Blocks and it feels Stiff. Question is have any of YOU used IT?
Will it Get soft after I wash it?
I'm going to Start a new Quilt w/Applique and if this will Not get Soft, What Do you All know about that Does get Soft?

Icon17, did you make sure that it was lightweight. The first appliques I did I didnt know that there was a difference and talk about stiff. Good thing that they were meant for a wall hanging so it didnt matter much. I recently tried HeatnBond Lite and that is better but still you can feel that something is there. Most should get a little softer when washed but I havent washed any of mine yet to know just how much. I have been told by alot of the members here on the board to try Wonder Under and make sure I get the lightweight stuff. Havent had time. I know that this probably doesnt help much but youre not the only one that has had this problem.

I use Steam A Seam Lite 2 all the time and it softens when washed. I'm using it right now in a snowman quilt. It feels stiff until washed. A lot of people cut the center out of the fusible and just leave it around the edges. I haven't done that yet. I'm use to doing it my way and don't know if I'll change the way I do it. It seems to work fine for me.

Thank you ALL for your Info! and yes I have the 'Lite Weight' Steam a seam I was smart as far as that goes! LOL.

The Project I used it in was the Post with the 'Picther/Bowls' Its for my own self so not that big of a deal but the one I'm going to Do now will be for someone else! :)

I found a new product (well at least new to me) it's called Mistyfuse it is ultra sheer and stays soft and will not add bulk.

ScrapQuilter beat me to the recommendation to try Misty fuse. I got mine on Amazon.
