A friend want me to make a quilt for her Dad. Hes a civil war buff and does alot of the renactments. She doesn't want civil war novelty material. She want design found durring that era. Any suggestion?

At least it is a place to start. There is also a book on the era you may be able to pick up at the library as well....Unraveling the History of Quilts and Slavery,Facts and Fabrications or Dating Fabrics,a Color Guide 1800-1960....this will give you an idea of the fabric styles used. There are many books or you could look on-line for other era specific quilts. Quilting Societies often show or carry patterns specific to certain times. Good luck in your search.
