need ideas for a wedding present that's not a large quilt
I want to make something quilted as a wedding gift, but it's not for someone that I know very very well. It's the daughter of some good friends of ours. I need suggestions for something that won't take forever to make, but will be a lovely gift.
Thanks! Carol |
do they celebrate Christmas? you could make a quilted tree skirt - it's something they'll need to get, probably.

Make table runner in colors she has chosen. Also place mat, napkins and coaster make good gifts

small table toppers are always thoughtful....neutral colors that would blend into any decore!
I would stay away from ''holiday'' themed items as you don't want to offend....and in this day and age, that is so easy to do! Spring, summer, fall and winter are, I think!!, still OK ''holidays'' to create gift items for!!!!! |
I just made placemats and napkins for a friend at church. My dad made her a rolling pin.

A small throw is also nice. about 48" square to throw over your feet.
Any of the other suggestions would be nice, the only thing I would avoid is a wall hanging! |
How about a set of microwave bowl potholders with matching napkins. These are awesome. Here is an example:

A casserole carrier would be nice. And if you wanted to splurge, a nice covered casserole dish to go with it. There's a link for a simple one here:

table topper with some candle sticks or another complementary accessory would be cool (a fruit bowl that coordinates with the fabric.

If she has her china pattern registered at a store, (so that you can check to see what the pattern is) why not make a table runner that copies the pattern of her china or compliments it?
