Need information on fabric cutter
 

Does anyone have the Accu-Quilt Go? I noticed Hancocks has a one day sale on it for $219.00, and am wondering if that is a good price. I have never priced them, and in fact really don't know that much about them. If you have one, are you satisfied with it, and does it do the job well? I have an interest in it, but would first like to hear from someone who owns one. Thanks.

My friend has one and loves it. I was very tempted as well when seeing at a show but just couldn't bring myself to part with the $200+. That, I believe, is the typical price. I've seen members here as well as on other quilting sites that have managed to pick them up used for pretty decent prices.

I am going to watch this thread very closely. I would really love to see a demo but will be interested in what users think. Joann's has them on sale for $199 about every 3 or 4 months and I pick one up and end up putting it back because I don't know if it is really worth it. I also thought about the Studio model .. much more expensive but much more sturdy. YIKES! What to do????

I saw a thread here about the other cutter, with the bars that you hold in place, for me I think I would like that because I a not really into applique. cant think of the name right now but it might quilt cut?

Don't forget to consider the cost of the dies and mats you must buy to use this cutter. That is one big part of what turned me away from it. Too much extra expense. Now looking at the cutter type that holds the fabric while you cut.

I also had a demo on the Accuquilt Go and found it difficult to manipulate the fabric and turn the handle with my arthritic hands.

Many though do love them. Be sure you try before you buy.

I have had the Go for almost four years. I would buy it again at double the price. Mine turns smooth as silk. I keep the handle height at hip level. It's low enough my shoulder doesn't lift while turning. Turning the handle at a higher height will cause shoulder problems. I could tell that with just a few uses. You can see demos on you tube of every use of it. It's up to the user how much fabric is wasted. I get 1/4" waste around each die. I buy the dies on sale. I don't think the mats are expensive. They are on sale or clearance at many online shops about every week. I stock up when I find them on clearance. They last me a long time.

I just got a Email from Hancock"s fabric"s, they are selling the Accuquilt for a little over two hundred today only online.

The lowest price I've seen on the Go is $199 and at Christmas that included a free Go Baby too!

I love my GO... I have an altos2 too but I love my go more...

I have the Accuquilt Studio--I wouldn't trade it for anything. I have RA and it has made cutting for me an enjoyable part of the quilting process. I struggled before I had the Studio. A friend has the Go and she loves it and we trade dies back and forth so don't have to purchase all of the dies. I am currently working on 3 Take 5 Quilts with the Studio dies--cut the quilts in no time at all. If money isn't an issue I highly recommend getting an Accuquilt.

Think of all the fabric you could get for $200.
