When I price a quilt I triple the cost of fabric at current per yard prices, add in long arm quilting cost, batting, embellishments,etc. If you want to know the value of a quilt, there are professional quilt appraisers. Very often they can be found at quilt shows. Good idea to have an appraisal for insurance coverage.

Depends on how they are charging. Usually it is the length in inches times the width in inches times the price per square inch.

So if your quilt was 40 X 60 and they were charging $0.02 per square inch it would be:
40 X 60 = 2400 square inches
times .02 = $48.00

If they are charging per square yard it's a different number. There may also be addtional charges or a minimum charge.

Long arm quilters are not cheap. :)

I have a pricing chart from the LQS that I am going to bring mine into. Baby Size 45x60 is 45.00 Queen 90x102 95.00 and King Size 110.00 oh and the lapsize 65.00

if the quilter charges by the square inch:

width X length X price per sq inch

so a baby quilt that is 30 X 40 would be:

30 X 40= 1200 X price per sq inch (maybe $0.015)=

18.00. Most long armers have a minimum charge.
