Needing help with a label quote
Currently I'm quilting a Indianapolis Colts quilt for a friends wife. Yep its for HER not him. She loves football, he loves hunting and fishing. Anyway when I was getting the details for making this quilt I asked if he wanted a label. Of course he says "You mean washing intructions?" So I explained to him that homemade quilts often have a label with names of giver and receiver, date, a quote anything you want on the label or nothing at all just the quilt. His response "Put something on there that will help me make a touchdown!" Giggling...I agreed. Well I'm at a loss for what to put on this label. Something that should the grandkids see it .....you know! Yes I said grandkids, they are both in their 50's so the chance of him making a touchdown aren't good anyway....LOL! Any help or suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Maybe something about football being a contact sport?
|
Hey ... I'm in my early 50's and ... well ... "touchdowns" are still appreciated!! :)
I going to avoid references to "Wide Receivers" and "End Zone" .... although I'm tempted!! How about .... "Hubby Completes a Pass" (or his name instead of "hubby") |
Hubby still loves you? To warm you when I'm hunting.
|
I like the idea of to warm you went I'm hunting.

It takes two

To [name] from your loving husband [name]
Just want to keep you warm, even when I'm away from you. |
Go for the long one.
Always try for extra points. Spike it! Time for a huddle. Whose turn to call the play? Football is a team sport. stopping now... :) |
or how about:
Snuggle watching the play, Even when I'm away. [a little poetry goes a long way, don't you think?] |
How about "Commissioned by the Quarterback of your heart." OMG how corny is that? lol
