Needle threader

Has anyone ever replaced the needle threader on a Pfaff 2054? Mine broke and I ordered the new assembly. I'm hoping my husband can do the repair but he may need a little "assistance" and I'd like to be prepared. Thanks.

i don't have a pfaff but when my needle threader broke for my viking and i received a replacement it came with good instructions- i would hope yours will too. i have had very good luck with good instructions/diagrams arriving with all replacement parts and have also been told by customer service that when it arrives if there is any question to just call and they can talk me through it.

I replaced the needle threader on my Pfaff 2040 Tiptronic a few years ago when I bought it used. The original owner wasn't a gentle person, and it was broken when I bought it. Now I don't remember how it went on for sure---I think the assembly may have just slid up a rod (?)---but I was able to do it myself. I think I was unsure at first and consulted with my husband. It wasn't hard, I know that. You do have to be careful when using it that you don't bend that fine wire, or tear it out altogether, which was the condition in which I bought the machine. I am always careful when using mine, and I've not had to replace it since. Mine doesn't automatically line up with the needle hole, either, since I put the replacement on, but it's not a problem. I just have to lower the needle a bit and the wire pops right into the needle's hole.

Thanks! There appears to be a screw to release the rod. Finding a tool that matched was the issue but I think we found something that would work. The piece is on order so I'll have to wait....

Believe it or not ... I had my needle threader removed. The way my fingers are it kept hitting my knuckles and then I'd bleed. I don't even miss it.
