I just tried a "new " gadget to view my work in progress quilt top. It is a peep hole like used on doors to see someone outside. It really worked nice to see the entire top to get overall effect of blocks. It works like squinting. Cost is about $5 at Home Depot. Another quilter told be about this .

Oh I have one of those and use it frequently. Its great when you lay out your blocks on your design wall, you can really see what pops or what is obviously in the wrong spot.

I have a couple of these. I have them in different totes to take to class etc. Great for picturing them from far away...

Indispensible if you are doing a colour wash.
Another useful tool is your digital camera! Put it on black and white then take a picture to see how the shades work together. |
Great tip - thank you!

Great ideas quilters. Thanks for the hints.

Brilliant idea! I always giggle when I squint in a fabric store thinking that whoever is watching me is thinking - Lady get some new glasses.

well, I guess I'm off to home depot- you can never have enough gadgets!
