I found a new to me pattern at my LQS. It is called 4 pack stitched posie. It is like a wack and stack but fabric should have flowers. Saw finished pattern and it was very nice! have to make it! I went to 3 quilt shops with 4 other quilters that I met on the board. One was from Montana. and others were from Akron, ohio area. What fun we had! Nice to meet other quilters in and out of the area!

I bet you all had a great time!! It would be so much fun to meet others here :)

I searched for the pattern but couldn't find it - what is it called exactly and who is the designer/publisher?

Can you post a pic?? I googled but all I came up with was your post! :D
Sounds really nice!

Colbaltjars62 08-29-2010 08:45 AM

Cool, do you have a pic that we could see of it?
That's neat that you were able to meet some board members, and one as far away as Montana. Way cool! I bet you had lots of fun.

They had three different ones hanging in the lqs that we were at one had bigger flowers and the other two had smaller ones. The owner of the shop stayed open an extra 30 mins explaining how to do the quilt getting ready to have a class at her shop so she was out of the patterns

I think I bookmarked a tute how to do the square posies. I'll find it and post the link.

i did one we called a four patch posie quilt. just cut four layers of fabric (pinned all matching points before cutting) and cut strips and then squares from the strips.

It is a fun/easy block to make. I have the pattern: H.D. Designs "4-Patch Stacked Posies". Before I got the pattern I had used this link to make my first one ... 'Posies Gone Wild';
http://quiltbea.blogspot.com/
she explained it very clearly (IMHO better than the pattern)
Then I made another using the pattern, last year. Followed by table runners I did this year.

As you can see one does not have to use a floral fabric!

POSIED GONE WILD top finished, still have to quilt it

These look easy and quick! Very pretty results! Thanks for posting the links and pictures :) Nice pattern!

Wow, that is cool. Thanks for sharing. I need to try that one.

Love that pattern! Oh nice quilts too by GrammyDwynn using the same pattern. Did you get fabric for your new quilt?

oldswimmer 08-29-2010 06:18 PM

I have done this pattern and it is great! The original 4 patch stacked posie is, IMHO, hard to follow. So if there is something that explains it better, I would say follow that one. Although I do have to say... once you get through one, you will understand it and it becomes very easy. Makes beautiful quilts!

Oh I like this. I have a nice piece that might work, hmmmm.

Up North gave a great link to view some of these quilts. They reminded me of the kalidascope dresden. I like them.

Yes, the original "4 Patched Stacked Posie" is hard to understand.

Quiltbea explains it nicely and with pictures. She calls it '4 patch stacker'

Love your quilt. I have some wild fabric that I didn't know what to do with. This is a solution. Thanks.

costumegirl 08-30-2010 07:15 AM

I am so glad that you posted this. I have never seen it before. I have some Christmas fabric that will be perfect for it. I love finding projects for my existing stash!! :)
