Well, for my birthday I got a new brother 6800 sewing/embrodiery machine.

Let me tell you, that after using a vintage 1967 Fleetwood sewing amchine that had only straight and zig zag stitching, this sure has the bells and whistles.

Now I just have to figure them all out. So far I have successfully, wound the bobbin, threaded the maching, and pieced some blocks together and I have expolered some of the stitches on scrap fabric.

The funny thing is, I wonder how long it will take me to have the muscle memory of where you lift the pressure foot. I keep reaching to the back of the machine and its not there, it is on the inside . I think if I put a nickle in the bank each time I reached around back, I would soon be able to buy lots of fabric. I have 40+ years of retraining to do.

Well here is to happy sewing.

Happy birthday and if your machine came with a knee lift for the pressure foot give it a try. I waited a year after I got my Brother to insert it. Love it.

Big congrats on your new machine. I just got one last week and I am doing the same thing. My lever is on the side now too. Enjoy playing with your new toy.

Congrats! Happy Birthday!

I'm thinking I would never buy a Pfaff because of that presser foot lifter placement! Too many years reaching in back to raise and lower the presser foot -- starting around age 10 or so. :-o Every time I try to show my sister something on her Pfaff, I feel like a klutz!

Happy Birthday and have a wonderful time!

Congrats! You will love the embroidery. I have a little Brother CS4000 and I have a dickens of a time remembering that the presser foot lever in on the right on the inside! Only think I don't like about my "Baby Brother".

Thanks for the birthday wishes. And yes I am enjoying the machine.

I did a little embrodiery last night. It was way cool. I am trying out all the stitches too!!

It is amzaing what one can do with more than just straight and zig zig!!!

I am planning on locking myself in the sewing room for the weekend and really play with my new toy!!!

My Pfaff has the 'inside' lever for the presser foot & it is fine.
You will quickly get used to it.

Bought myself the same machine and it is waiting for my return from vacation. I will enjoy knowing how you are progressing - exciting to have a new tool (toy). Know you will have happy sewing.
