Sorry, didn't do it right. Hope this time works.

Those risers look great. Did you make them? Also, what brand is your frame? Thanks.

grannysewer 01-03-2012 08:18 AM

They're those foamy float things w/ a PVC pipe at the right height. I have a HandiQuilter, my daughter does the quilting on it now. I do a little, but she can make that thing go.

Not only do they look good but they are easy on the floor :)

ewecansew 01-03-2012 03:17 PM

Great idea to cover the pipe. It makes is so much easier on the toes.

I ner thought of covering the PVC pipe. Looks great

QandE2010 01-03-2012 04:31 PM

That is a wonderful idea. Like ewecansew said, it makes it easier on the toes. Have fun.

sewbeadit 01-03-2012 04:55 PM

I like the pretty colors too.

SueDor 01-04-2012 03:24 AM

Joset 01-04-2012 04:47 AM

cool, clever idea. i love the colors

pinkberrykay 01-04-2012 05:24 AM

What a great idea, thanks for sharing. You can pick those floaters up at the $ Store for well a buck and pvc is also inexpensive.

quiltinggirl 01-04-2012 05:39 AM

Great idea! Thanks for sharing this with us. :)

Ann L 01-04-2012 05:40 AM

Great idea.

grannysewer 01-04-2012 01:26 PM

Thanks everyone. I asked for risers and my SIL took the challenge. You're right, if I stump my toe on these, it won't hurt. They work very well and are not hard to take off.

Mickey1 01-04-2012 03:14 PM

Thanks for the info on purchasing them at the dollar store. Someone on the Board had used one on their knee lift and I thought that was a great idea too.

sewnbug 01-05-2012 05:27 AM

Very clever. I need to do that with the bed in sewing room so I can stash stuff under it.

carolynjo 01-05-2012 06:39 AM

A very useful, clever idea!

May I ask more about the Handiquilter? What model is the machine and how easy is it to set up and use? I have been thinking of purchasing a longarm but don't know much about them. Thanks. Clever idea which can be used on many table. thanks.

lovingmama 01-05-2012 06:50 AM

It makes me laugh. It is amazing what we come up with, that none quilt related items could be used for quilting. No one can say that our minds are not creative in many different ways.

You did a great job with those risers. I guess most Quilter's could be called McGuyver's of Quilting. (Excuse the spell.)

Kath12 01-05-2012 09:15 AM

I too think that is a clever idea! Looks good

petlover 01-05-2012 11:41 AM

Great idea, thanks for sharing.

My first thought when I saw them was that they looked like those "noodles" my grands use in our pool to float around on.......and sometimes bonk each other on the head with. lol. What a great idea for their use.

Its a handi quilter frame set up and the machine is a Juki TL-98Q, with cruise control attachment. The bed opening is about 8"-9", not as big a long arm. That's my next big step.

fabricsrus 01-05-2012 03:59 PM

I use the bed risers that can be purchased at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, or other stores that carry household items.
This increases the height of the table about 5".

dahlshouse 01-07-2012 11:36 AM

Very clever idea... I've been thinking I need to raise my cutting table... now I know how...

Mousie 01-19-2012 07:17 PM

oh my goodness! I am going to "raise" my table and the legs are very similar. I love the look of yours!
Hot dog, you have given me a new tip! thanks :)

BETTY62 01-19-2012 07:22 PM

That is great, now do you use a Juki machine and could you take another picture of how you have the machine set up...Thanks

nana4baj 01-19-2012 08:00 PM
