I have a quilt made by my GA Meta Roos. She made it for me when I graduated from HS. I recently found it at my mom's when we were cleaning after she passed away. She had saved it all these yrs. It is in great shape ( no tears ,only one small hole that looks to be a burn) . It is a Lone Star ,all hand pieced . It is beautiful. I am so happy that it survived. What would be the safest way to display it? I would really appreciate any advice on the treatment of Tante Meta's gift. TIA

If it were mine I would put it on a guest bedroom's bed and enjoy it as it's intended use. There are also glass enclosed quilt racks that you could put it in. We would love to see a photo:)

I would like to post a pic but DD has my camera at the moment. Maybe she can drop it by sometime.

even draped on a chair back and rotated about every 6 months would be fine...just watch for sunlight and avoid that!

Yes, keep it out of any direct sunlight to keep all colors from fading. Ask me how I know!

For displaying: I have thought of putting a nice quality wooden curtain rod high up on one wall in the living room, and draping one or two quilts over that. I'm thinking I could change them seasonally, or at least refold and rehang every few months.

So ,you wouldn't suggest putting a sleeve on the back?
