I have been wishing for the Olfa swivel rotating cutting mat that sells for about $45... Today I had a 40% off coupon for Hobby Lobby and they had that mat! So I got it for about $26. They also had quilting gloves very inexpensive and I hadn't been able to find any locally. Double score! Can't wait to play with my swivel cutting mat. Do any of you use them?

I love mine, I have one by Fiskars and I love it when I'm making applique circles and/or anything that has tight curves along with my trusty tiny rotary cutter. And the gloves are the greatest. I have rhumatological disease which often affects my hands and if it weren't for the grips on the gloves I would never be able to quilt if I had to maintain the "death grip". I hope you enjoy your new finds! Can't beat a sale... my husband knows I live for the coupons for both Joann's and Hancock Fabrics! Girls gotta shop when there's a sale!

The revolving mats are wonderful for squaring up blocks. I used to run around the table to reach all the sides. Now it's a simple matter to spin the mat around instead of me. It's also good for cutting small pieces or one or two of a kind. It's great for trimming up flying geese or square in a square blocks. Buy the bigger one if you have a choice.

I have two mats, a small one and a large one and love both of them. As far as gloves I use plain cotton gardening gloves with the rubber dots on them. I tried the Fons & Porter gloves and like my gardening gloves better.
