No collecting

Okay... I have made up my mind. I am not going to increase my small collection. (mostly because i lack the room). I think what I have is enough. A total of 8. Most are modern and very useful for what I do. I can keep up by viewing what others have collected and be a virtual collector. I will take my limited fortune(ha) a purchase fabric for my first love (quilting).

~grin~ Good luck with that! :)

Collect what? you have left me in the dark, which is not uncommon for me:thumbup:

Yea, I put my foot down on collecting machines too, right on a sewing machine peddle all the time. One treadle, two FW, two sergers, a 301A, a Janome, one spartan and two 185's, and red eye and two couple odd ball machines not sure what they are yet. We won't speak of the pretty PINK Montegomery Ward machine I bought couple days ago for $3.99. Nope, I ain't collecting either. You neither Charlee, right? Wink, wink! You best stay out of resale stores and away from yardsales CC.

Good luck with that. Don't you realize you're an addict! :) No one tells you how addicting quilting is when you start.

Me, too! I am in desperate need of a great garage sale, an estate sale or even a church rummage sale. I need a FIX!!!

Yea, I have to say I have had the same collecting bug for a while, can not seem to shake it. LOL

I never thought of myself as a collector, even though I have about 20 machines, from treadles, featherweights, to one fairly new embroidery/sewing machine. And I can't help looking at garage sales, thrift stores, craigslist, and ebay. It must be contagious, because now my sister's herd of machines has started growing.

Is there a 12-step program for sewing-machine-aholics?

momto5 04-11-2012 05:23 PM

There is a 12-step program for addicts, and I'm afraid you're right in the middle of it...we meet more than once a week, though...:)
