OK I'm stumped. They have about every other kind of measurement of grids except a 10.5! I asked a woman at JoAnns if she knew of anyone that carried them, she said they don't make them!! Can anyone tell me why? I thought about asking my ex-brother in law to cut me one from plexyglass and smoothing the edges. It's awkward having to use the 9.5 and 12.5 all the time. I mean, isn't 10.5 a popular square anyway... or am I just still new and don't know what I'm talking about! Thats probably it but...well you know. Had to ask.

lol -- i thought you were talking about SHOES!!

i've been complaining about no size 10 1/2 shoe for a few years now. i'm in between a 10 and an 11.

=(

lol

THEY DO MAKE 10.5 I have one. It is clear with green and is made by Omnigrip. I bought it at Joanns fabrics. It was like $16 dollars or something outrageous.
Here is a picture I posted of it.

I have a 10.5"ruler, there's hundreds of them over here.

Creative Grids also makes a 10-1/2" square.

You're kidding!! I can't find one anywhere and one JoAnns worker told me they don't make them!! I was hoping to find one there since they had their 50% off sale going. Ok, thanks, I'll have to keep searching then. At least I know they're out there! I May see if my sister can get me one out of Knoxville. She lives in Dandridge.
Gee, thanks again ladies!

I find the Joann's workers will tell you things like that if they don't carry it. I had ours tell me there was no such things as water soluble thread.... :)

Traditionally the most popular sizes of blocks were 9" and 12" therefore the 9 1/2 or 12 1/2 square up rulers. Now there seems to be a ruler of every size and for every purpose.

Try www.jhittlesewing.com to see if he has one. Or Sewforless. There are lots of places to buy just about any size I have ever heard of including ones that measure in 16ths of an inch!

Momma-

let me know if you need one I can pick one up for you and mail it back in your swap.. Plenty of places around here I can get one, plus it gets me in a fabric store.. Oooooooo more fabric..... :) lol...

Momma_K 01-21-2011 10:53 PM

Gee that would be great Luv, but this one is pretty cheap. I'd hate to put you out of your way since I know how you hate to go to those 'ol fabric stores! Not sure about the shipping and handling but if you want to check on the prices first and let me know unless you already know...but I really do need one with our doing these swaps. It's a lot easier than the way I'm doing it now.
Let me know if you know the price or find out. We have time before the swap mailings. Thanks Luv!!

many thanks. i have two of those already.

they're nice but made of floppy plastic. i'd cut them to bits if i tried to use a rotary cutter with them.
