Too many quilts on the go for Christmas projects and not enough time to get them done!!! This thing called WORK is getting in my way!!!

Deb watkins 11-25-2009 07:48 AM

I hear you on that! Work time during the day goes slow, but lunch time when I hand sew goes by so fast...........

KBunn 11-25-2009 07:51 AM

Sigh....at least I can take comfort in seeing that everyone else seems to have the same problem I do!!

katier825 11-25-2009 08:32 AM

I was able to get quite a few done this year. The trick for me was picking simple patterns and no complicated quilting designs! I'll work on the more complicated stuff after the holidays so I don't feel rushed.

I sew agree.....maybe we can get elves to help us like Santa

I completely agree! I have one that I need to finish this weekend while boyfriend is out of town. Finished it (I was about 50% done last week) over the last 2 days. Quilting it completely Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Binding while he's away. Oh, and my quilting stuff is all packed up, just to complicate things!

Is there ever really enough time to complete all that we would LIKE to make???

I tried to get a size XL quilt sandwiched and pinned at work yesterday and today. (I like using the boardroom table...BIG) Even taking an extra 1/2 hr each lunch, I still didnt' get it finished, but close enough that I can finish at home. I want to get the machine quilting done this w/end. Since I work Friday, that doesn't leave me a lot of time. Friday work should be interesting...only 3 of us there!! Guess we will be ordering in lunch. ;)

I know what you mean. I'll be sewing every spare minute.

I still have a quilt to finish from last Christmas  I feel your pain

sandpat 11-26-2009 09:11 AM

Oh you are sooo right, there is never enough time! I thought that when we retired we would have plenty of time....nope...now I can't figure out when we even had time to work!
