I have been wanting to do a OBW for some time so decided to do a practice piece before cutting into new (read expensive) fabric. Result - table runner, all done with stash on hand, including batting scraps. I think I will move on the the good stuff.
Hope this works - my first time posting "New Topic"

It never ceases to amaze me how different they are, compared to the original fabric. Thank you for posting both.

Did not sell the Christmas fabric I had posted...now I am glad cuz I think I will attempt a OBW with it. Hope I am up to the challenge, but at least Christmas is 10+ months away!

I love ALL OBWs.....yes,,,,we can start a revolution!!! What??? Okay so I get carried away sometimes!!!! LuV IT!!!

nellebelles 01-31-2011 12:31 AM

Inspiring! I have decided to make a OBW for our daughter's wedding in May--but have been pretty scared to cut into the fabric. Maybe I'll try a test one first, too...!!

k3n 01-31-2011 02:25 AM

This is beautiful and perfect fabric for a first go! Limited colours, large print and swirls. So many ppl make it hard on themselves by chosing a difficult fabric then get put off the whole process... Great job! Looking forward to seeing the 'real one'! :-D :-D :-D

plainpat 01-31-2011 03:12 AM

I like the table topper....very nice. Maybe that's what I need to do with my blocks.

Juliebelle 01-31-2011 04:12 AM

Great job!

AnnieH 01-31-2011 06:24 AM

It looks so fabulous. Well done. Love the way you used the fabric.

fireworkslover 01-31-2011 06:44 AM

That turned out wonderfully. I'm surprised you had enough in your stash for a OBW. Your stash must be more extensive than mine. This not counting those fabric chunks I've bought specifically for a OBW. It's beautiful - now onto another chunk of fabric. Please show us that one too.

Beautiful! I want to do the same thing with some cut up full skirted floral dresses I have in my stash. I have had them for years, just waiting for something like this!
