I have the chance to purchase this machine. My mom sent me a picture and I am not sure of the model number ect. I have tried to find some info on it (I realize without model number it is a long shot) I was wondering if anyone might have seen this machine and would know what a good price to offer for it would be. Thank you so much!

I don't know this particular machine. The case is an old style case, the machine is newer than the typical collectible vintage Singers, and Brother is not a particularly collectible model. Where I am, a machine like this would probably be offered for sale in a thrift shop for about $30, or at a garage sale for $25.

You want to make sure that it works and that the cords are in good condition. I buy old sewing machines to fix up for a local non-profit and they average me about $25; however, I pass up machines with bad cords because I don't want the trouble of re-wiring.

It does look like a cute machine! Just be aware that these machines tend to be very heavy. If you have to pay for shipping, it's probably not worth it (plus it must be packaged very carefully to avoid damage in shipping).

I agree, that range ($25-30) is reasonable. I have recently purchased 3 old machines, and didn't pay that much for any of them.

She sure is a pretty girl. Think I may have used one similar in school which would have made it early 60's. Don't buy it if you have to ship, will more than double the cost! Two I got are both so heavy I can barely carry with one hand. Good luck.

Pretty! I love the color, it looks almost lavender!

I think it being pink increases the value :>

I was going to say that, anything Pink go for it. That vintage Brother was a very well built machine and you can not go wrong with it at all. And you have accessories to boot?

If you dont want it I will get it, because I know what I am looking at and I dont like electric machines!!!

It looks as if it is in great condition. I would go for it :-)

I have a very old Brother machine.. not like the picture, perhaps even older than the one pictured.. It is a straight stitch machine and it sews like a dream.. I love that machine.. I think the older machines are very reliable or they would all be in landfills by now!! If you can get it for a good price then go for it.. You can always sell it again if it's not your cup of tea.

I would probably pay $50. for it. Old Brothers are my favorite sewing machines.

I think the old brothers are great! I gave a newer brother to my sis to get rid of it-piece of ltwt plastic. I gave away an older brother many yrs ago to have a reason to purchase the newer one-kick myslef everyday for that!
