I bought vintage singer today at a estate sale. The serial number is G9245765. I looked it up, and it was made in 1911, however, it came in a plastic case. This seems to be inconsistant with the date. Does anyone know why? Also, can this machine be converted into a treadle? I also bought a really great treadle cabnet (without a machine).

The case was probably not original with the machine. There's a vintage machine section here that can probably answer more questions for you.

I can not post a picture because of a broken camera, but I did look it up on line and I now own a 1911 66 red eye. I am so excited. Should I see about having it made into a treadle, or just have it cleaned and use it like it is?
