When cutting a one block wonder quilt, is it just as good to split the fabric in half (as I was instructed to do in the Stack and Whack book)? I find it easier to cut a 21 inch stack of strips than to try to cut a 42 inch strip. My thought is that you would have as many hexagons and you may waste a little fabric, and require extra stacking. But is the end result the same?

How are those cubes that we see in the OBW made? I am sure it is in some book, but not in the one that we have.

Yes, it is a lot easier to work with just 1/2 the width. In the book, it instructs you to tear it length wise, if I remember correctly.
The cubes are in another book by the same author.

I'm still trying to figure out what a one block wonder quit is?

There's a tutorial for the hollow cubes here:

http://www.how-to-quilt.com/articles...llow-cubes.php

If you scroll down the page there's a single green cube on the right. If you click it, a pdf tutorial will come up.

Do a search on this board for one block wonder and/or OBW. There's an excellent tutorial and lots of gorgeous completed quilt pix.

Put OBW in search and you will find many pictures.

The cubes are in another book by the same author, "One Block Wonders Cubed".

It is a quilt top made with (usually) one fabric, cut into triangles to make up hexagons. Each triangle in a hex is identical. Do a search for One Block Wonder to see some examples.

There is a whole topic for this quilt. Look at the very bottom of the page and click on "Topic Lists"

Thanks so much for all the help on OBW. Maybe I'll dive in and have more questions.
