When you are piecing simple squares do you find it easier to to blocks & then stitch the blocks togehter or doing it the way I did on my fristquilt....one row at a time?

I prefer to do the blocks first then put them all together at the end, that way, if I have color or pattern variations I can work with, I can adjust the final layout of the blocks before any of them are sewn into rows/columns.
