I did a search and didn't find anything on this topic. I just got my long arm, which came with a closed toe foot. I'm used to FMQing with an open toe and I'm having a very hard time seeing where the needle is. There is an open toe foot available for my model Viking 18-8 (Tin Lizzie). Should I just keep trying and keep what I've got or break down and get the open toe? Any disadvantages?

I have an open toe on my LA. It came with both open and closed toe. I only use the closed toe when using templates and so far I have only used a template when I had my first practice sandwich on. Once I switched out to the open toe I have not put the closed toe back on. I would spring for the open toe if I were you, or ask your dealer to throw one in, you just spent a butt load of money, it is the least they can do!

I have a Fusion and as soon as I have enough money for an open toe, I will definitely be getting one!

Thanks, Sherryl Candlequilter |
Thanks everyone! I'm going to break down and get one. I have read where you can 'adjust' a closed foot with a hack saw, but I think I'll get the real deal.
This is the best price I've seen. http://www.allbrands.com/products/abp21877.html |
