I'm getting ready to do the quilting on a quilt for me. The fabric colors are burgundy, deep teal blue, med blue, white, pink. I'm not sure what color thread to use to do the quilting. The thread colors I have to choose from are white, med gray, med pink, dark red (merlot -- which is what I'm kinda leaning toward), light blue, dark blue. Any opinions?

An easy way to help you decide which looks best on your quilt is to pull off 3 feet or so and lay it across several of the fabrics in your quilt.

I think the dark red(merlot) would be pretty. For me it depends on whether I want the quilting to stand out or blend in.

Without seeing the colors I would say the gray cause I think it would blend better with the pink and white. Course it all depends on how much you want your quilting to make a statement. Let's see what others weigh in at!!!

Merry Christmas.:):)

Step back and check it out!

my first thought was also the gray. But, the sure way to figure it out would be to lay the various colors across the different colors & see what works.

This is what I do.

What pattern is it? That makes a difference. I have used variegated threads and love how they look.
