My mom has a older mid-arm quilting machine and is having a hard time doing smooth designs on her quilts. I'm just wondering if anyone has used groovy boards? did they work? or should I just get her some pantographs? Is there a good place to get them? perfered design? TIA

I love groovy boards - I use them alot - they are pricey though - its best if you buy 3 or 4 of the same design - so they will cover the whole quilt - they work great.

I can't draw, but can folow panto fairly good. I have groovy boards too, but they are too $$$.

I don't have any but I think the groovy boards would be more precise. crafty_linda_b

If she is having trouble with smoothness then groovy boards or something similar is the way to go. Keeps us steady and the designs look great when finished. My last panto looked like garbage, I couldn't follow the lines at all. I should have picked an easier one but thought my skills were good enough...not! I have a wish list for some of the sewboards from bayside quilting.

I don't have groovy boards, but I have Circle Lord boards. I love them! I have done one panto and it went smoothly, but be careful of the backtracking ones. Even the experts have a hard time backtracking.

What she needs is some new wheels. After I had EZ Glider Wheels installed it made a tremendous difference!

That's why I love this board, I did not think of the wheels. Hmmmm. I hope they are easy to replace. Thank You All!
