I thought I might try a scrappy quilt and wondered what paper is most used?? I know I have seen it here but it escapes me at the moment. Thanks for your help.

Copy paper, children's tracing paper, newsprint, or the packages of vellum like paper sold specifically for pp. I use plain old copy paper the most, when I go to remove it, I fold it open it back up and rip it off like you would a sheet from a tablet :wink: What teensy bit that occasionally get stuck in a stitch, stays in. :wink:

I use copy paper like amma - if you reduce your stitch length, it tears very easily (and its already in my printer LOL!)

I forgot that part :oops: I set my to 2.0 and it usually tears pretty easy, how about you Roben? Is that close to where you set your stitch length?

I also use the copy paper. Much Cheaper and works just as good. I have a I set my stitch length at 1.8, and it is awful if I should have to unsew but it is easier to tear the paper. Good luck, I love paper piecing, perfect corners.

I found some good old fashioned typing paper in a desk we had--it worked great. When I ran out, I started using copy paper. I just sew with a smaller stitch too, and fold it back a few times before removing.

Cheap copy paper works well. Smaller stitch and folding it back a couple times for a good crease helps it to tear smooth and all come out. If it doesn't, then tweezer time in front of the boob tube.

The stitch length on my machine goes from 2.0 right down to 1.5 - I've used both with great results, and 2.0 is easier to tear out if I have an oops - so I go with the 2.0 :lol:

Thanks everyone for sharing, I have copy paper and tracing paper, now all I have to do is get to work. I am excited as I've never done this before.
