I'm going to do a child's quilt with "Cat in the Hat" theme. Are there any suggestions for an easy pattern that would use red, white, and aqua/blue main theme? Appreciate any suggestions 8-)

I have seen many baby quilts lately (and have done quite a few myself) with alternating 9patch and large focus fabric squares. Does this make sense? In other words, make 9 patches with your complementary fabrics, then cut cat in the hat blocks the same size. Alternate them, add borders if desired, and viola.. done!

I hope this makes sense, and gives you at least one idea!

Warm Wishes is a great and quick pattern. Looks harder than it is! You can find the pattern free as a download from Quiltmaker. They used it as a Linus pattern one year.

Do you have the fabrics? If so, if you could post that would be helpful.

I do have the fabrics, however, I am technically challenged and don't know how to post pictures. :( I have been looking and like the 9 patch idea with a focal and may experiment with a 4 fabric DNP also.

Thank you

Makes perfect sense and I think will work much better than a 4-patch that I had been considering.

Thanks for your help

That is a great idea, too! I have done many of those ... don't know why I did not think of it in the first place! In fact, here are some pic's I have done with this pattern.

Have fun!! Be sure to post pic's when you are done! (If I can figure it out, so can you!!)
