Can anyone think of a pattern that uses one focal fabric and two or three (or four) accent colors. Not warm wishes. I like that one but I want to try something new and I can't think of any off the top of my head :)

I think finding your pattern would depend on your skill level. Can you visualize a Mariners Compass, or a Bargello? I wouldn't want to suggest anything like that to someone with little or no experience. How are you at fussy-cuttting, stack-in-whacks or medallions?

I would need more information to give you an honest opinion. I'm sure there are people on this site that could give you better advice. (Sometimes my best creative juices flow, just as I'm falling to sleep at night.) :-)

Just Can't Cut It or 5 & Dime, both are by All Washed Up.

You can see their patterns here: http://allwashedupquilts.blogspot.com/

There was a thread for a twisted log cabin. Not difficult, and it used focus or fussy cut fabric for the center.....was very pretty......You might want to consider that.

A bunch of us have been looking at this pattern on another thread. It looks complicated but is just 2 simple blocks. It's free to download if you join up.

I've always loved the Ohio Star.
