pattern for a thread catcher ??
 

I have seen numerous shops displaying thread catchers with an attached pin cushion for sale. the pin cushion sits on the edge of the table, has 2 strips connecting it to the thread catcher itself. Some thread catchers have a plastic strip inside the top fold to keep the thread catcher open all the time and some do not have this plastic. I make lots of neat little items to earn extra money for myself and no-one will seem to give up the pattern . I am willing to pay for it, can anyone out there help me please ?:)

I tweaked the pattern and also made cat and dog ones and changed the pin cushion to a bone or fish.

Idea on what to use around the top of the bag - go to a £1 shop and buy a cheap metal tap measure, cut to size and bind together with masking tape. Or you can use the plastic packing tape - get the thickest you can - white good shops are good for this. Or another is the plastic covered wire that you use to hang net curtains. All fairly cheap. Hope this helps

If you go to the site that Denises listed, the tipnut one, scroll down to the last one on the left side. I have made many of these and they are very easy. For the band at the top I use the plastic banding that comes around packages. Works great. Easy to sew around. I can do 4 of these in about 2-3 hrs. I use 2 different fabrics. Very pretty. I just sent one to someone of this board and she seemed very happy with it. I think they would be good money maker. I have a friend who wants me to sell them on e-bay, but, I don't want all the hassles. I just enjoy making them to give away. Good luck. May God Bless your endevors.

I don't have a pattern, but I purchased one I like at Madison WI quilt show. It has a ceramic tile in it for weight to stay sitting on the table. Also the bottom half (side down on table) of the pocket the tile slips into was made of that rubber bumpy fabric from fabric store that is used on the bottom of footed pajamas.
