Has anyone been to the Quilt, Craft, and Sewing Festival in Phionix, AZ??
Just wondering if it's worth a trip out there.

18th annual Quilt, Craft & Sewing Festival, Jan. 26, 27 & 28, 2012 - 10 am - 5 pm. Same place, Arizona State Fairgrounds, free demos, free seminars, lots of vendors.

Yes, if you never been there you should go! The free demos and free seminars are worth it!!! If you can get several girlfriends to go with you, you can share the cost of $10.00 (as of 2 yrs ago) for parking and then it cost $10.00 for entry fee (see if you can get a discount coupon from the newspaper, quilt shop etc. etc.)Take a lunch and plan on being there all day maybe two if you've never been there...

I quit going to the fairgrounds because of the cost to park your car. People need to stand togather and stop going there till they lower the cost.

I go every year, but I don't know if it would be worth it from Daytona Beach..... Here is a link for the people that promote this show http://quiltcraftsew.com/ They have them all over the states. The next one close to me (AZ) is in mid coast CA in Pomona which I'd like to go to, but haven't yet. Right now I only see west coast show, but if you e-mail them I'm sure they would let you know if there is any on the east coast.

If you want to come for the warm weather, be advised that it is not warm out here right now. Last year it was windy and I wore jeans and a coat....

Rose Marie, Last year they did something different with the parking, but I can't remember what. I still feel it is a bargain to see all the vendors in one spot and have a great day shopping. I have a few 'must' visit companies....

I used to go to this show every year. I quit going because I'm interested in quilting and they have alot of craft vendors. I save my money and try to go Road to California in Ontario,CA in Jan instead. THAT Is all quilts! (well, 90%!). Personally, if you were here already, I would go. I dont' think I would travel from Florida. I WOULD travel from Florida to the Houston show in the fall tho! I think that is the granddaddy of all quilt shows. Heaven!

I agree that this show in Phoenix is not a "quilt show." I go but I'm always disappointed. I went to the show in CA and Houston so thought maybe I was just spoiled. I wish we could get one of the bigger, real quilt shows here.

have you ever gone to the AZ Quilt Guild show in March? They have moved it to Mesa, so its a hike for me, but more worth it for me than the Craft show.

I used to go to the Guild show when it was at the college in Glendale. Great show but will not drive to Mesa where it is now.
Im not familiar with Mesa roads and the traffic is awful on that side of the valley.

Yes, I agree with all of you, that's some of the reason I quit going too! By the time you get in the door, you already spend $20.00 that I could use buying fabric! And..... most of the vendors are local and they won't give you a discount, so I can just as easy go to their shop without being charge to walk in the door. Yes, go to the quilt shows instead!

Yep, I go almost every year. But then I also man our quilt group's booth.

The free demo's - classes are really neat. Do wear layered clothing as the classroom area isn't really heated and it can be cold with the concrete floors and all.

A friend bought a show sewing machine and got all the 'stuff' to go with it for a great discount. On Saturday the vendors want to sell what is left so as not to take it back with them.

Go with friends and make a day of it. I take my lunch because I don't want to eat the food there ... my preference.

Down here we also have the Tucson's Quilt Guild [in Tucson] show in January and the AZ Quilt Guild show in March. Lots of smaller shows too. Most are listed in The Country Register and flyers are at most LQS's.

35th Ave Sew & Vac has the largest fabric selection of any store in AZ. It is also worth a visit. They usually have sales during the Rusty Barn Promotions Quilt,Sew, and Craft Festival.
