I bought some basic muslin from Hancock for the backing of a quilt. After washing I noticed that it pilled.....really ticked me off. Anyone else have that problem? Didn't seem like the muslin was super cheap, just regular stuff!

Oh dear, that would make me mad. Maybe it was just a bad bolt.

I've never heard of that before with muslin. Can you try returning it? I know it's been washed, but clearly it isn't quality fabric.

Is it all cotton muslin? Or poly cotton? I think the poly cotton is more likely to pill.

I've gotten so that I will buy only the best quality muslin. Only places I have found it are at one LQS and online. It's been quite awhile since I ordered, so can't remember the brand name off the top of my head.

Some of the cheaper stuff I used to buy was very thin and/or shrank a lot.

Some of the best muslin I've found was from Walmart.
