Pinwheel Blocks

Okay ladies/gents...I have made about 40 pinwheel blocks with material from my sale stash...I went to lay them out and although I like the blocks I don't care for the way they are laying out...any suggestions??? Any links/pictures and of course ideas welcomed...I will post a pict as soon as I can...but in the meantime...

I'm going to read this with interest. I'm taking a Jelly Roll quilting class at Craftsy. I just finished making a Chain Saw quilt. There was a great deal of fabric left over. The instructor gave us several suggestions on how to use the leftovers. The one I selected was making pin wheels. she said we would have enough pin wheels for a lap quilt. I do not need another lap quilt, so I thought about alternating the pin wheel blocks with a plain block of the background fabric. If I do not like that look, I'll just get more fabric to make additional pin wheels and use narrow sashing. Another idea I had was to set the blocks on point and use different patterned fabric for the plain blocks. I want at least a twin size quilt. I have made only half of my pin wheels. Hopefully, by the time I finish them, I'll have a great idea for my quilt.

Thanks, I will try the sashing and the cornerstones...I might have enough blocks for two lap quilt then..which means two xmas presents out of the way...

You already have some excellent ideas. I look forward to reading about the finsihed quilt or quilts.

You could alternate them with another kind of block. My friend Cindi made a beautiful quilt that was a combination of 9-patch (in color) and hourglass (in neutrals) blocks.

Alex Anderson made one that had little appliqued flowers on every other block. It's beautiful.

I seem to have a thing for 9-patch blocks....
