Piping in a quilt?
 

I have almost two packages of piping left after a disasterous attempt to put scalloped piping on an Easter dress for my daughter.

I am thinking - I can use these in quilting somehow, right? I'm working on a cute little girl's doll-size quilt that I could probably work it into.

Does anyone have pics of ways they've used piping (or seen it used) in a quilt?

I hadn't even thought of piped binding. I was thinking around blocks or something.

I used piping or maybe it was considered a flange (not sure of the difference) on a quilt I made. The color of the sashing was too close to the background color of one of the focus fabrics so I used the edging between the sashing and the main fabric. The only down side is that while it is very visually attractive it does create a "ridge" that makes the quilt less snuggly. Since I used a very fluffy fleece for the backing the other side not being as snuggly was not an issue.

It would go very well around quilted cushions as well. Or pillow cases to give a edge. Definition. I wounded if it wold work like a flange . I think I would depend on the size of the piping.

Well, since it is a doll quilt, and may end up on the wall, I don't think being not snuggly will be much of an issue.
